Abstract: (13 Views) |
To see what the research findings on the effectiveness of teaching philosophy in improving children’s global citizenry are, an extensive search and review was undertaken. The results show that the teaching of philosophy leads to, among a slew of other things, a research gathering by which critical discourse and reasoning are improved; these are among the main factors bringing about global citizenry. The other things that are resulted from such an undertaking include, but not limited to: respecting cultural diversity, global responsibility, cooperation, and peaceful coexistence. As such, teaching philosophy to children can be considered by educational policy makers and planners as an effective strategy for bringing up citizen aware and committed to global values.
