Abstract: (14 Views) |
To explore the experiences of new math teachers with the internship program at Farhangian University and discover its impact on their professional development, a group of 13 new math teachers with two years of teaching experience who had gone through the said program were interviewed in depth and with a semi structured format. The collected data were validated and then content analyzed. The findings were categorized in three general categories: Opportunities, Limitations, and Methods. Opportunities such as familiarization with teaching methods and techniques, as well as the experiences of co-workers, limitations like the absence of regard for the prerequisites of internship, as well as the inaccessibility of professors after graduation. To remedy these limitation requires the use of new methods in informing both the interns and those who are implementing the program. Educational planners need to provide student teachers with appropriate setting in order to internalize the related knowledge and develop their professional capabilities. |
