Abstract: (17 Views) |
To help with the improvement of the course on Multigrade Classroom Teaching taught at the Farhangian University, it was deemed necessary to content analyze the main textbook used in this course in terms of its coverage of competencies expected from teachers in theses settings. To do so, initially a literature review was conducted and a set of 38 expected competencies in the areas of knowledge, skills, and attitudes was derived. Then the content of the above mentioned textbook, and the syllabus for the course, were analyzed using this set as a model. The results show that the contents mostly cover the knowledge area, while the attitudes area is almost ignored and skills coverage seems weak at best. It is suggested that both the syllabus and the textbook be revised in order to remedy the shortcomings. |
