To identify the constituents of a family-based curriculum and indices of its efficacy, a total of 35 related documents that were carefully selected, were content analyzed. This analysis yielded a set of four categories of constituents: Parental interests such as tendency to encourage studying, parental supervisions on things like the use of cell phone, appropriate home environment suitable for learning, and dialogue-based informative events such as daily conversations on events and homework. Furthermore, 17 indices of efficacy were identified whereby the effectiveness of any family-based curriculum can be assessed.
