Teaching methods and models differ in both emphasis and effectiveness. It was hypothesized that if the teaching model is based on life’s meaning, then a positive impact on academic buoyancy and motivation to learn can be observed. To test this hypothesis two groups of male 8th graders were selected through random cluster sampling. Both groups’ academic buoyancy and academic motivation were measured before and after the intervention, using instruments of acceptable validity and reliability, as well as internal consistency. One group was taught for one year using the method based on life’s meaning, while the other went through the whole academic year benefitting from the regular teaching method at their school. Covariance analyses of the data show that the experimental group far exceeded the control group in all aspects of academic motivation and academic buoyancy.
