To determine the quality of TV programs teaching math and science to fifth graders during COVID-19 era, a sample of seven sessions was selected for observation by a team of 13 experts that included instructional technologists, curriculum planners, and teachers. The instrument used was assumed to be valid and reliable since the inter-rater agreement was calculated to be 0.78. The data analysis revealed that the quality of teaching in all areas of concern (content, instructional design, and technology) was above average and hence, adequate in both subjects. However, in the design of both courses attention to motivating learner to think, and materials’ summation and conclusion was rated inadequate. |
