To explain the particular approach used herein to discover better ways of religion training, Frankena’s edited model is taken as the basis for deriving goals, principles, and methods for a program of religious training. This approach to the language of religion is not only ordinal and multi-dimensional, but a conflation of similar approaches that are based on theological principles of god’s existence and unity, as well as the fundamental Islamic traits attributed to humans such as authority and intellection, multidimensionality, and perfectionism. Furthermore, it is emphatic on the synthesis of symbol and sign. The goals of religion training, as implied by this approach, are recognition of almighty’s attributes, strengthening the ability to reason, self-purification, and reinforcement of belief. As for the recommended methods, dialogue and discussion, verse-based reasoning, creative writing, and a conflation of thereof are but a few. Following these goals and using these methods can lead to the development of all aspects of religious training in believers. |
