Counselling and guidance services given to high school students in Isfahan suffer from many inadequacies in areas of supporting counsellors, and providing individual and group counselling. To identify the shortcomings a sample of 344 counsellors, administrators, and students, randomly selected, was given a questionnaire which seemed to have validity and an internal consistency of 0.97. The data analyses revealed a significant difference between opinions of students and those of the other groups in regards to the severity of the shorcomings, just as there was such a difference regarding the existence of facilities. Significant differences were also detected between male and female students, humanities students vs. others, 12th graders compared to students of other grades, and the 17-18 year olds against the other age groups. While all students have a counsellor, only 95% of them know their counsellor, and 93% have seen their counsellor in the classroom.
