An Opinion Survey on the Appropriateness of the Calligraphy Used in the First Grade's Farsi Textbook
H. Ghamari, Ph.D.
Abstract:   (5029 Views)

To assess the appropriateness of the calligraphy used in the first grade's Farsi textbook, the opinions of a large number of head teachers, teachers, students, and calligraphists across five provinces were surveyed. The instruments used in data collection were a questionnaire, a spelling test, and a legibility measure. Data analyses revealed that the use of three styles of calligraphy in the first grade's Farsi textbook is considered to be inappropriate as it leads to students' confusion and the mixing of rules and regulations associated with each style. The simplest style (naskh) is the most appropriate one for the use in the first grade's Farsi textbook.
